Misenheimer, N.C. - North Greenville fell to 8-7 overall and 6-5 in Conference Carolinas play on Wednesday, following a 3-0 loss to Pfeiffer University.
The Crusaders struggled offensively, registering just 28 kills on 73 attempts. NGU committed 21 attack errors while hitting just .096 as a team. Jon Childes led the team with eight kills while Connor Rhine and Luuga Vailu'u had six each.
The Falcons earned wins of 25-14 and 25-16 in the first two sets, putting North Greenville in a 2-0 hole. The Crusaders had two of their worst offensive showings of the season in the two frames, including a -.192 performance in the second.
NGU bounced back in the third with 14-kills. The Crusaders led briefly in the set but the Falcons fought back to tie the game at 10 after trailing 9-7. The Crusaders stayed a step ahead until the Falcons scored two straight to take a 16-14 advantage. The Crusaders would trail by four late in the set but closed the gap to three until Pfeiffer ended the game scoring four of the next six points.
NGU will host Bluefield College and the University of Charleston on March 8th at 3 and 7pm in Hayes Gymnasium.
