North Greenville Stumbles in Non-Conference Tilt with Coker

Tigerville, S.C. - North Greenville fell to 8-6 on the season Saturday following a 3-1 loss to Coker College.

The Crusaders hit .277 for the game while the Cobras finished with a .294 percentage. Caleb Arelus led NGU with 13-kills while Connor Rhine and Jon Childes had 10, each.

North Greenville earned the first win of the day with a 25-23 decision in set one. The Cobras quickly evened the set tally at 1-1 though as they took a 27-25 win in the second period.

The Crusaders trailed the entire second set but bounced back to even the score at 25-25. The Cobras would recover to and score the next two, to earn the victory.

NGU had its worst offensive showing in the third set, hitting at just a .91 clip while the Cobras had their best performance. Coker hit at a .375 percentage during the final frame, knocking down 12-kills as a team. The Cobras would go on to win the set 25-16 using five NGU errors.

NGU will return to Conference Carolinas play, traveling to Pfieffer University for a 7pm first serve with the Falcons.
