Tigerville, S.C. - North Greenville added a mark to the win column on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Lees-McRae College.
The Crusaders stormed out to a 2-0 lead with wins of 25-18 and 25-22. The Bobcats had no plans of losing in three as they forced a fourth game with a 26-24 win in the third set. The Bobcats had their best showing of the night in the third, hitting the ball at a .407 clip while NGU hit .318. The Crusaders aided Lees-McRae with several errors from the service line in the one loss of the night.
North Greenville fell behind in the fourth set as well as the Bobcats took a 10-8 lead. The Crusaders regrouped and knocked down the next five points though, earning them a 12-10 advantage. The Crusaders would go on to stretch the lead to six before ending the night on a 5-2 run to take the final set 25-16.
Matthew McManaway led the Crusaders with 12-kills. Luuga Vailu'u helped NGU's cause with 11-kills of his own while Alexander Schinzing dished out 43 assists. The Crusaders finished with a .370 hitting percentage while the Bobcats hit just .242.
NGU will host Saint Andrews College on Thursday night. First serve is scheduled for 7pm.
