VAILU'U HONORED AFTER SOLID WEEK ON VOLLEYBALL COURT

Tigerville, S.C.—NGU Men's Volleyball Player Luuga Vailu'U has earned the team's first player of the week awards for the year of 2015 after landing the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week nod as well as the nod for Freshmen of the Week from Off The Block, a men's volleyball publication.

Luuga Vailu'U has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Men's VolleyballPlayer of the Week for the fourteenth week of the 2014 - 2015 men's volleyball season. The North Grenville Men's Volleyball Team went 2-1 in its final three matches of its inaugural season, much due in part to the performance of the high-flying freshmen.

Vailu'U put together one of the most impressive offensive performances of the year for the Crusaders, racking up 44 total kills including a 17 kill performance against Lees-McRae. He also put together impressive performances against King with 13 and Limestone with 14 kills. He was equally impressive in percentage hitting at a .438 clip for the week, committing just 12 errors on 73 total attacks. Vailu'U also dished out two service aces with seven total blocks.

Vailu"U received the FOW honor from Offtheblockblog.com over seven other freshmen from around the country, covering all division of the sport. The Crusaders will take on the Conference Carolinas leading Pfeiffer this weekend in the program's first trip to the league playoffs.
