CRUSADERS STRUGGLE ON THE ROAD AGAINST BELMONT ABBEY

Belmont, N.C.—The North Greenville Volleyball hit a season low .111 on Friday night in a 3-0 loss to Conference Carolinas foe Belmont Abbey.

The Crusaders finished with just 29 kills and 19 errors while the Belmont Abbey Crusaders had 40 kills and just 10 errors. BAC finished with a .395 hitting percentage. NGU put down three blocks on the defensive end of the net with 23 digs led by Dustin King who had six. Curstis Westra led the offense with nine kills while Alexander Schinzing led NGU with 26 assists.

North Greenville fell behind early after Abbey cruised to a 25-16 win. The Crusaders wouldn't fair much better in the second game as Belmont Abbey earned the double-digit 25-13 win to take a 2-0 set lead. NGU saved its best set for the third frame, unfortunately the Crusaders from Belmont found more fire power. NGU finished the set with their best of the night 12 kills while BAC finished with 17. NGU would fall late in the set as Abbey took the 25-21 and 3-0 win.

NGU fell to 8-16 overall and 2-12 in Conference Carolinas play. The Crusaders will take on Coker College on March 24th in Hartsville, South Carolina.
