NGU FALLS SHORT AT KING

Bristol, TN.—NGU dropped to 2-10 in Conference Carolinas play on Wednesday night after a 3-1 loss to King University.

The Crusaders fell 25-20 in the first set, but bounced back to take a 25-22 win in game two to even the overall score at 1-1. The Crusaders put together their best performance of the night on offense in the second frame knocking down 15 kills on 32 attempts.

Matthew McManaway led with 15 kills for the Crusaders while also coming up with two blocks and two block assists on the defense end. Luuga Vailu'u had 11 kills for the Crusaders while Connor Rhine had 10 and eight digs. Alexander Schinzing scored a double-double with 36 assists and 11 digs on defense.

The Crusaders would drop the final two sets of the night 25-14 and 25-21. The Tornado held the advantage in hitting (.301) and kills finishing with 61 compared to just 52 for the Crusaders. NGU hit at just a .229 clip.

North Greenville will take on Belmont Abbey on March 20th at 7pm in Belmont, North Carolina.
