NGU'S BID FOR FIRST CONFERENCE WIN COMES UP SHORT IN GAFFNEY

Gaffney, SC - North Greenville's first ever conference match ended in a 3-1 loss to the Limestone Saints which competed in the conference championship last year.

The Crusaders were able to fight back from a two set lead by the Saints, but the comeback bid fell short when Limestone won the fourth and final set. Freshman Martin Alcox had an outstanding match posting 14 kills, while fellow freshman Dustin King led the defensive side of the court with 14 digs.

The Saints took an early 1-0 set lead after a 25-10 victory. North Greenville would regroup and comeback strong in the second set challenging the Saints before losing the set 25-22. In the second set the Crusaders would record 10 kills, and only 4 errors on the set. The Crusaders would put together a hard fought 3rd set and go onto win the set 25-22, but would come up short of the Limestone Saints in the fourth set falling 25-16 giving the Saints the match victory.

Your Crusaders next match will be in conference on the road January 16 at the University of Mount Olive. First serve is scheduled for 7p.m.
