Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville men's volleyball team continued its preseason preparation with a tune up match against Clemson University, defeating the Tigers 3-1 on Wednesday night in Hayes Gymnasium.
The Crusaders took the first set with a convincing 25-16 victory before Clemson battled back for a 27-23 win in the second set of action.
North Greenville would rebound in the third set with a 25-20 victory, needing a win in the fourth set of play to seal the match win. Neither team would relent in the fourth set at the Crusaders and Tigers combined for 68 total points in North Greenville's 35-33 four-set win.
Martin Alcox led all players with 23 kills, while Matthew McManaway totaled 14 kills of his own. Setter Alexander Schinzing recorded 47 assists in the games, while Dustin King was the Crusaders' leading defensive player with 13 digs.
North Greenville remains undefeated in the fall preseason, with their next matchup against the University of Georgia on Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. in Tigerville.
