Two Personal Bests Set at Clemson Opener

NGU opened up the 2019-20 season at the Clemson Opener in Clemson, South Carolina. Eight Crusaders participated in the meet, two of which set personal bests in their respective events.

Victor Shellhammer set an indoor personal best in the 800 Meter event with a time of 1:58.56. He placed 1st in the event. Amir McCall, who placed 3rd in the same event, recorded an indoor personal best time of 2:01.37.

Jackson Junkins had a strong start to his season, finishing 1st in Section 2 of the 400 Meter Dash. He posted a time of 47.84 seconds.

JJ Sherman placed 1st in Heat 3 of the 60 Meter Dash Preliminaries, recording the top time in the event with 6.74 seconds. He qualified for the finals, but did not participate. TJ Freeman began his collegiate career with a 5th place in Heat 1 of the event, recording a time of 7.48 seconds. Eli Buckley raced in the event as well, posting a time of 6.98 seconds in Heat 4.

Tevin Richardson placed 2nd in Section 1 of the 200 Meter Dash, posting a time of 21.30 seconds. Sherman also raced in the event, finishing right behind Richardson with a time of 21.88 seconds. Dalton Reitmeier competed in Section 8 of the event, placing 2nd with a time of 24.36 seconds.

The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday, January 11th in the UAB Vulcan Invite in Birmingham, Alabama.
