NGU had a solid overall day at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, South Carolina. A number of lifetime as well as season personal bests were set as well as a number of top ten finishes.


Jacob Holcombe recorded a 5th place finish in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase with a lifetime personal best time of 10:33.28. He also put up a lifetime personal best in pole vault with a height of 3.85m.

The team of JJ Sherman, Jackson Junkins, Preston Pierce, and Tevin Richardson placed 6th out of 16 in the 4x100 Meter Relay with a time of 40.40 seconds.

JJ Sherman achieved a top ten finish in the 100 Meter Dash, finishing 6th out of 78 participants with a time of 10.32 seconds.

Jackson Junkins posted a 10th place finish in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 47.58 seconds.

Tevin Richardson placed 12th out of 48 in the 200 Meter Dash, posting a time of 20.90 seconds. Sherman also had a solid time in the event, finishing 18th with a time of 20.99 seconds.

Victor Shellhammer was the first Crusader to finish in the 800 Meter Run with a 25th place finish and a personal season best time of 1:57.44. Tommy Pearson also put up a season best time of 1:59.91. Amir McCall placed just behind Person with a time of 2:00.09, another season personal best.

Austin Brown achieved a season personal best in Pole Vault, recording a height of 3.85m.


The Crusaders will head to the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships starting Friday, April 26th in Central, South Carolina.
