Tigerville, S.C. – It has been a record-breaking season for North Greenville track & field and national pundits have taken notice, honoring the NGU student-athletes with a combined seven All-Region nods from the United States Track Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The NGU men finished the regular season with five All-Region award winners. JJ Sherman and Tevin Richardson headlined the North Greenville winners, both earning All-Region accolades in two events.
The team of JJ Sherman, Tevin Richardson, Harold Hilton, and Jordan Walters won All-Region honors in the men’s 4 x 100-meter relay. Sherman and Richardson also tacked on All-Region honors in the 100 and 400-meter dashes. Adrian McGee tacked on an All-Region nod as well for his work in the men's long jump.
For the women, a pair of field athletes made the list, including Millie Klefsaas and Shekinah Wilder. Klefsaas, a freshman was the breakout athlete of the year for NGU, setting several schools and personal bests in the vault including a launch of 3.88 – meters which earned her the 10th highest mark in NCAA Division II and the third best freshman.
Shekinah Wilder is no stranger to success for NGU and once again headlined with an All-Region nod in the women’s triple jump. Wilder turned in several solid performances this season including a leap of 12.04 – meters which was the eighth-best distance in NCAA Division II.
