Central, S.C. – North Greenville men’s and women’s track & field wrapped up the 2017 season on Saturday afternoon at the Conference Carolinas championships hosted by Southern Wesleyan University.
Tevin Richardson reeled in a Conference Carolinas championship for the Crusaders in the men’s 400-meter with a time of 47.33 which doubles as an NCAA provisional qualifying time. The time set three new records including a school record, a personal record, and set a new standard for conference best. Richardson also finished 3rd in the men’s 200-meter.
Shakinah Wilder can also label herself a conference champion after her work in the women’s triple jump. Wilder hit a mark of 11.82-meters which is also an NCAA provisional mark. It was also a personal best for her as well as a school record. Wilder doubled up on events, turning in a fourth-place finish in the women’s long jump as well.
NGU also got a pair of third place finishes out of McKayla Keitt in the 400-meter and the team of Keitt, Lilli Haines, Shelby Wright, and Emily Beisecker in the women’s 4x4 relay. Keitt finished with a school record 57.67 in the 400-meter which was a new school and personal best for her.
Beisecker also turned in a solid performance in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.30 which is a school and personal best. Jordan Walters was 7th in the men’s 400-meter with a personal best time of 49.01.
