Birmingham, AL—North Greenville’s JJ Sherman is one race away from winning the school’s first ever NCAA National Championship after finishing in the top three during Thursday’s preliminary races.
Sherman finished second in his heat with a time of 6.71. The six second finish placed him third overall out of three heats in the 60-meter race. Sherman will run in the championship race on Saturday afternoon in Alabama.
He is the first NGU track and field athlete to earn a spot in the finals and would account for the first NCAA National Championship in school history should he bring home the first place finish.
