Crusaders Picked to Finish Third in Men's Indoor Track Championship

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Two-time defending Conference Carolinas Champion Mount Olive has been chosen as the favorite to win the 2015-16 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships, the conference office announced today.

The Trojans tallied 67 points, including five first-place votes, to narrowly finish ahead of Limestone College. Mount Olive took last year's Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championship after posting 191 points.

The Saints come in second in the preseason poll with 66 points and three first-place votes. Limestone's 143 points at the 2014-15 indoor championship secured them a second-place finish. Rounding out the top three was North Greenville University with 59 points. The Crusaders finished third at the 2014-15 Conference Carolinas Track & Field Championship after posting 117 points.

King University came in fourth with 52 points, followed by Lees-McRae College at fifth, who tallied 46 points. Barton College was voted sixth with 40 points, while Pfeiffer University and Belmont Abbey College round out the poll tied for seventh with 31 points each.

The 2015 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field season gets underway on Friday, Dec. 4.
