Tomas
Kurhajec serves as the head coach of the North Greenville University men’s and
women’s tennis teams for the fourth year. Before taking the job as head men’s and women’s tennis coach at NGU,
Kurhajec was working in the Student Services Department as Assistant Men’s
Housing Coordinator at NGU.
Kurhajec was
born and raised in Slovakia where he began playing tennis at the age of three
with his father, a great former tennis player, as his coach. Kurhajec continued excelling in tennis and attended
a high school that accommodated and allowed athletes to train for his or her
specific sport while outside of class.
Kurhajec
earned both a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management in 2009 and a Masters in
Business Administration in 2011 from North Greenville University. He played on
the Crusaders tennis team for three years and earned several awards: including
two first team All-American awards for singles and doubles, as well as two
second team All-American awards for singles and doubles (National Christian
Collegiate Athletic Association). Kurhajec
was also part of NGU’s 6th straight NCCAA National Championship team
during the 2007 tennis season.
