Central, S.C. – North Greenville men’s tennis dropped a Conference Carolinas match to Southern Wesleyan on Saturday, coming up on the short end of a 7-2 decision.
The Warriors swept the doubles play to take a 3-0 lead heading into singles. The Warriors needed tie-breakers in all three matches to earn the wins, but came out on top with a set of 8-7 decisions.
The Crusaders cut into the lead with their first win of the day when Dion Nijboer earned a 6-0/6-1 win in the third spot. Sjors van Eck would also tack on a point for the Crusaders with a 3-6/6-0/6-1 victory, making the score 3-2.
North Greenville ran out of answers though as the Warriors were able to take wins in the remaining four singles positions. The Crusaders fell to 3-9 overall and 1-3 in league play after Saturday’s defeat.
NGU will host Limestone College on March 18th at 1:30pm at Vance Tennis Complex.
