Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville men’s tennis dropped a heartbreaker to regular season champion Pfeiffer University, falling 5-4 to the Falcons in the final match of the regular season.

Sjors van Eck and Sergio Araujo would supply NGU’s only win in doubles play as they earned an 8-3 win over their Pfeiffer counterparts. The Falcons would win the second and third singles by scores of 8-2 and 8-6.

Van Eck won his second match of the day with a 7-6(7-2)/6-4 win in the one spot for singles. Sergio Araujo would fall 6-2/6-0 to put North Greenville in a 3-2 hole. Jose Gomez would even the score with his 7-6(7-3)/6-4 win.

The Falcons would earn the win over North Greenville with wins in the fourth and fifth positions. Alejandro de la Torre would drop a 7-5/6-2 decision while Marcelo Yshikawa lost 7-5/6-0. Edmundo Torres would earn the last win of the day for North Greenville with a 5-7/6-5/10-5 win in the six spot.

The Crusaders will take on Barton College in the Conference Carolinas tournament on April 29th at 12pm. First serve is scheduled for 12pm.
