Tigerville, S.C. - NGU men's tennis improved to 3-0 in league play on Tuesday with a 6-3 win over Southern Wesleyan.
The Crusaders took two of three games in double's play as Jose Gomez and Sergio Araujo won 8-3 while Sjors van Eck and Edmundo Torres won 8-6. Southern Wesleyan's win in tandem play came in the second spot with an 8-3 victory.
Van Eck continued his winning ways in singles play as he earned North Greenville a 3-1 lead with a 6-0/6-1 win in the first position. Araujo extended NGU's lead to 4-1 in the second spot with a 3-6/7-5/6-1 victory.
The Warriors cut the lead in half with a 6-1/6-4 win but Alejandro de la Torre locked North Greenville's third league with his 6-1/6-4 victory. SWU would earn one more victory in the fifth singles spot but Torres would cap the Crusaders' win with a 6-2/6-2 triumph.
North Greenville improved to 5-5 overall after Tuesday's win. The Crusaders will host Pfeiffer University on April 1st at 2pm in Vance Tennis Complex.
