NGU Comes Up Short In Tilt with Young Harris

Tigerville, S.C. - North Greenville fell just short of its first win of the 2016 season, Wednesday after a 5-4 loss to Young Harris College.

The Crusaders were swept in the doubles portion of the day as the Mountain Lions earned wins of 8-5, 8-3, and 8-5.

North Greenville bounced back in singles play but still fell two wins short. Sjors van Eck got North Greenville on the board with his 6-3/6-2 singles win to cut the YHC lead to 3-1. Sergio Araujo doubled the win total for the Crusaders as he earned a 6-4/4-6/10-7 win over Alex Pavel.

NGU evened the score at 3-3 as Jose Gomez defeated Daniel Tiboldi 6-4/6-2. The Mountain Lions would take the next two wins though as Alejandro de la Torre fell 6-2/6-2 while Marcelo Yshikawa dropped a 6-1/7-6 decision, securing the win for Young Harris.

Edmundo Torres would finish the day with a win for North Greenville with a 6-3/6-3 win over Jan-Niklas Graetz.

The Crusaders fell to 0-4 for the 2016 calendar and will host Brevard College on March 17th at 2pm. NGU will take on Lees-McRae on March 18th in the first Conference Carolinas match of the season.
