NGU MEN STAY PERFECT IN LEAGUE PLAY

Belmont, N.C.—The North Greenville Men's Tennis Team remained undefeated in Conference Carolinas play after a 5-4 win over Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon.

Belmont Abbey held the 2-1 advantage after doubles play as the Crusaders took two of three from NGU. Sjors van Eck and Marcello Yshikawa won the only tandem point of the day for North Greenville in an 8-3 win in the second doubles slot.

The Crusaders would recover by taking four of the six singles sets. van Eck earned his second win of the day with a 6-1/6-3 win to get the ball rolling. Abbey would win the next two singles sets but the Crusaders would finish on top in the final three.

Santiago Robles cut the points lead to 4-3 with a 7-5/6-2/10-3 win before Alejandro de la Torre evened the tally at 4-4 with his 6-1/6-2 win. North Greenville clinched its fifth conference win after Marcelo Yshikawa came up bit with a 7-6/6-2 win in the winner take all sixth singles game.

The Crusaders improved to 5-0 in league play to stay in the race for the regular season title. The Crusaders are 6-4 overall.
