SINGLES SWEEP LEADS NORTH GREENVILLE PAST KING

Bristol, TN.—The North Greenville Men's Tennis Team won five of six singles sets on Friday night en route to a 6-3 win over King University in Conference Carolinas tennis action.

The Tornado took a 2-1 lead into singles play after doubles, as NGU won just one tandem set. Santiago Robles and Alejandro de la Torre were credited with the default win while teams of Jose Gomez and Sergio Araujo fell 6-3 while Sjors van Eck and Marcelo Yshikawa lost a 6-2 decision.

North Greenville would bounce back in a big way during singles play. van Eck got things started for NGU with a 6-4/3-6/10-8 win while Sergio Araujo gave NGU a 3-2 lead with a 1-6/7-5/10-8 victory. The Crusaders got more help from Robles who put NGU up 4-3. De la Torre clinched the win for NGU with a 6-1/6-2 win while Yshikawa was credited with a win after a second default by the Torndao.

North Greenville will travel to Lees-McRae Saturday afternoon for a second consecutive Conference Carolinas match. The Crusaders and Bobcats will start at 12pm.
