MEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO 35TH RANKED FRANCIS MARION

Florence, S.C.—The North Greenville men's tennis team dropped its second consecutive game Wednesday afternoon after an 8-1 loss to 35th ranked Francis Marion University.

North Greenville's lone win of the day came in doubles competition as Sergio Araujo and Jose Gomez earned an 8-6 win. Sjors van Eck and Marcello Yshikawa dropped their doubles game 8-0 while Santiago Robles and Alejandro de la Torres lost 8-4.

The Patriots would score the singles sweep against North Greenville in the final matches of the day. Araujo would fall in his singles game 6-2/6-3, while both van Eck and Gomez dropped 6-1/6-0 decisions. Robles would lose his game 6-0/6-0. de la Torre fell 6-1/6-3 while Yshikawa was defeated 6-0/6-3. .

North Greenville fell to 1-2 on the season, with Conference Carolinas on the horizon. The Crusaders will welcome Erskine College to Tigerville on Friday afternoon for a 2pm match to open league play.
