Spartanburg, S.C.—The North Greenville men’s tennis team continued its tough non-conference schedule on Tuesday afternoon, taking on the Terriers of Wofford College. The Crusaders fell short of the upset however, falling 6-1.
NGU’s only win of the day came in singles, when Rafael Lenz Gonzalez defeated Jackson Keith 6-3 and 7-5. Sjors van Eck continued his solid play, but fell in three points to Walker Heffron 5-7, 6-1, and 10-4. The Crusaders didn’t fair any better in double’s contest, dropping all three doubles matches. Lenz and Gonzalez dropped an 8-1 decision while the pairings of Araujo/Camacho and van Eck/Yshikawa both dropped close 8-5 decisions.
