CRUSADERS FALL SHORT IN SEASON FINALE WITH ERSKINE

Due West, S.C.—The North Greenville men’s tennis team wrapped up its 2013 season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Erskine College 9-0 in Conference Carolinas action.

James Klempin and John Melson put a scare into their doubles counterparts, but the fleet pairing of Matthew Twitty and Robert Clarke would come out on top 8-6. The Fleet would sweep the doubles competition with scores of 8-4 and 8-2.

The Crusaders wouldn’t fair any better in singles completion falling to the Fleet in all six sets. Sergio Araujo Filho won the only set for the Crusaders but would fall in a third set. Filho would fall to Dean Harris 7-5/7-6/7-5.

North Greenville finished the season 3-13 overall and 1-9 in conference play.
