Tigervile, SC- The North Greenville men’s and women’s tennis teams hosted Benedict College April 2, 2013.  NGU’s men’s team defeated Benedict 6-3, while the women were just short of pulling out a win but fell 4-5.

Sergio Araújo Filho and Guilherme Ferreira were victorious in their doubles match 8-5. The men just fell short in the first two singles matches, but dominated the final four singles matches highlighted with John Melson being in control the whole match with him winning 6-1, 6-2. The Crusaders improve their record on the year to 2-11.

In women’s competition, Susane Lenz and Maggie Elliot lost their doubles match 8-6 which brings their 3 match win streak to an end.  Rebecca Beacham was on the victorious side of an intense singles match 6-3,3-6,6-0. The Crusaders fall to 3-10 on the year.

Tomas Kurhajec’s men’s and women’s tennis teams will be in competition against in a home match Lees-McRae College on Wednesday, April 3,2013. All home matches will be played at the Greer Tennis Center, 226 Oakland Avenue, Greer SC, 29650.
