Tigervile, SC- The North Greenville men’s and women’s tennis teams hosted Carson Newman University March 27, 2013.  NGU’s men’s team fell to Carson Newman 1-8, while the women were just short of pulling out a win but fell 4-5.

Sergio Araújo Filho and Guilherme Ferreira put up a tough fight in their doubles match, but lost 8-6. The men just fell short in all their single matches and lost overall 1-8. The Crusaders came up short and their record now becomes 1-10 on the season.

In women’s competition, Susane Lenz and Maggie Elliot once again show their excellent teamwork with their third straight win in doubles competition.  Susane Lenz also was able to pull out a win in singles competition today 6-1, 0-6, 6-1. Coach Tomas Kurhajec said after the match, “The girls were evenly matched. We had a big chance of winning, but came 1 game short of a win.”  The Crusaders fall to 2-9.

Tomas Kurhajec’s men’s and women’s tennis teams will be in competition against Coker College on Friday, March, 29, 2013 in  Hartsville, SC at 1pm. The next home match for the Crusaders will be April 2, 2013 against Benedict College.  All home matches will be played at the Greer Tennis Center, 226 Oakland Avenue, Greer SC, 29650.
