Tigerville, S.C.—The North Greenville men’s tennis team surged past the Spartanburg Methodist Pioneers, Friday afternoon, 9-0 en route to the teams first win of the 2012 tennis season.

The Crusaders capitalized on a uncharactistically warm day in February, sweeping both the singles, and doubles matches. Samuel Avery, Josh Dority, and Juan Vargas improved to 2-1 in singles on the season, while Fredrico Vieria, Hugo Ciarrocchi, and Guilherme Ferreira picked up their first wins of the season.

In doubles, the teams of Vieria/Avery, and Ferreira/Ciarrocchi picked up their firsts doubles wins of the season. Josh Dority and Juan Vargas improved to 2-1.

The Crusaders are now 1-2 on the season overall, and 0-1 in Conference Carolinas play. The Crusaders will look to reach the .500 mark overall, and in conference paly on February 18th, when they take on Barton College.
