Men's Tennis Heartbreaker against Tusculum 5-4

On Friday, the Crusaders traveled to Greeneville, TN to play the Pioneers of Tusculum College.

The men played strong, but were unsuccessful in their attempt to break the Pioneer's 6-0 season record. Timur Kamilov (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) and Luis Campos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) started out strong by winning their single sets, but when they came together for doubles the outcome was a close 9-8 loss for the Crusaders. Hugo Ciarrocchi (Sao Carlos, Brazil) won his singles for the team and when he paired up with Keshia Sedov (Moscow, Russia) for doubles, they were able to pull off an 8-5 win. The men played hard, but sadly, they were unable to break the undefeated Tusculum. Head Coach Mark Elliot described this match as a "heartbreaker" for the Crusaders. The men are now 3-3 on the season and will be practicing hard for their next match against UVA Wise on March 17 on the home court at 2 p.m.
