Men's Tennis begins 7-time NCCAA national title defense with 5-2 win over Cedarville

MARION, IN--North Greenville University's men's tennis team began its 7-time NCCAA National Championship defense in exciting fashion. The Crusaders downed Cedarville University 5-2 to open the 2008 tournament. NGU had a bye in the afternoon matches in Pool B.

Also in Pool B, Olivet Nazarene University defeated Cedarville 5-0. Cedarville will have a bye Wednesday morning while North Greenville and Olivet Nazarene square off against one another.

In Pool A action, Hope International defeated Dallas Baptist 5-1, Spring Arbor defeated Indiana Wesleyan 5-2, Dallas Baptist defeated Spring Arbor 5-1, and Hope International defeated Indiana Wesleyan 5-1.

The semifinals begin Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 with the top team from Pool A playing the #2 team from Pool B and the top Pool B team playing the #2 Pool A team.

The championship will be played at 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
