VAMOS! Crusaders win sixth consecutive championship

GREER, SC—Juan Carlos Aguilera defeated James Buerkle in two sets to give North Greenville University its sixth consecutive NCCAA Men’s Tennis National Championship. The Crusaders defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 5-3 in a rematch of last year’s championship match.

NGU took two of three doubles matches as Gabriel Altmayer and William Ho won 8-5 over Brock Newton and James Buerkle in #1 doubles and Aguilera and Andy Hack won 8-4 over Lukas Colombo and Tyler Dealy in #2 doubles. Paul Segodo and Frankie Moulton defeated Tomas Kurhajec and Rob Young in #2 doubles.

PBA took the top two singles matches. Newton defeated Kurhajec 6-1, 6-3. Segodo defeated Young 6-1, 6-1.

NGU won the #3, 4, and 5 matches. Altmayer defeated Moulton 6-2, 6-0, while Ho won 6-0, 6-1 over Colombo. Aguilera’s 7-5, 6-3 win over Buerkle sealed the championship for the Crusaders.

Indiana Wesleyan and Spring Arbor tied for third place.
