Men's Tennis Captures NCCAA National Title

GREER-The Crusader Mens Tennis team is once again focused on the NCCAA National Title. After defeating Palm Beach Atlantic University 5-2 and Spring Arbor University 5-1 on Tuesday, the Crusaders faced their toughest test yet. The Crusaders faced off against last year's national runner-up, Indiana Wesleyan University in an 11am match Wednesday. After dropping two doubles matches, Illian Nachev, Jadison Fioramosca, Tomas Kirstukas, and Derek Drews all won their respective singles matches to bring home the win for the Crusaders. the win put the Crusaders in the afternoon semi-finals as the #1 seed in Pool A.

The night was capped off as the Crusaders did battle with Bethel College. Sanchez Smith finished off Bethel, winning 0-6, 6-2, 6-3 to seal the Crusaders a berth in the finals. The final was 5-3, Crusaders, giving Mark Elliott his first finals appearance as North Greenville Head Coach.

Thursday morning was as much as the Crusaders could handle. Olivet Nazarene was everything that Coach Mark Elliott prepared them for and more. The Tigers took two out of three doubles matches, with Tomas Kirstukas and Derek Drews the only doubles winners for North Greenville. The Crusaders proceeded to win four singles matches to win the team's fourth straight NCCAA National Title. For scores and more, go to NCCAA Championship Central below.
