Former NGU alum and soccer player Jonathan Lagos returns to NGU as an assistant coach with the men’s soccer team under head coach Bill Martin. Lagos graduated from North Greenville with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management in 2015 and was a member of the NGU soccer team.
After graduation, Lagos racked up on experience, coaching in both the high and collegiate ranks as well as working with local club teams. His resume includes time at Berea High School as the assistant men’s varsity coach as well as coaching at both the NCAA Division I and II levels with Southern Wesleyan University and Presbyterian college.
During his time at Berea, Lagos helped lead the Bulldogs to their first ever playoff appearance and playoff win, advancing all the way to the Upper State semi-finals. He then added a national championship to his coaching resume, helping the Southern Wesleyan Warriors to the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association title in 2015.
During his tenure PC, Jonathan Lagos helped guide the Blue-Hose to several program firsts including the most wins in program history, the highest conference finish, most All-Conference selections, a conference semi-final appearance, all while adding seven total wins to the team’s total from the year prior.
In addition, Lagos is the head coach of the Furman United Soccer Club, guiding the team to several tournament wins at the Academy Select Level. He holds several professional certifications including a license from US Soccer & South Carolina Youth Soccer.
Lagos will serve as the assistant coach and recruiting director for the North Greenville men’s soccer team.
