North Greenville Unable to Slow Down Lakers

NGU suffered a tough 8-0 loss to the Lakers of Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia. The Laker offense proved to be effective, posting five goals in the first half and three more in the second. For the Crusaders, Gareth Greene led the team with three shots.

Twenty minutes would go by in the first half without a goal, but that would change when Brad Kay put the Lakers on the board. Two minutes later, they would strike again with a goal by Geo Rios. Approximately a minute and a half after that, a third goal would score as a result of a header by Brad Kay. Later in the half, a penalty kick goal by Ryan King gave the Lakers a 4-0 lead. With the end of the half in sight, Clayton State wrapped it up with a fifth goal, which was scored by King. NGU did post five goals throughout the half, but the two on goal shots were kept out of the net.

The Laker offense would continue to fire shots throughout the second half, with a goal scoring in the 67th minute by Josh Rodgers. Dusan Stankovic would add to the lead with a goal of his own. That would be followed by an eighth goal, scored by Cody Crimmins to wrap up the match. Two shots would be posted by North Greenville in the half with one on goal.

NGU will return to action on Thursday, October 31st in Tigerville to take on the Bruins of Bob Jones University.
