The North Greenville Crusaders came up big with a 1-0 victory against the Lions of Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia. With the first 82 minutes of the match going scoreless, the Crusaders finally broke through with just eight minutes remaining with Ryan Parker's first goal as a Crusader.
Although Emmanuel opened up with the first shot of the match, it was North Greenville who turned aggressive, posting eight shots in just a seven minute span. After a blocked shot by the Lions, the Crusaders followed up with five more shots, four of which were saved by EC goalkeeper Giuliano Palma. The Lions would post the next five shots as well as two of the last three, but the half would ultimately remain scoreless.
Both teams would put up shots early in the second half before Emmanuel would follow up with four consecutive. After two additional shots by the Lions, NGU would get on the board with a goal by Ryan Parker and an assist by Mitchell Backer. The Lions put up a fight with two shots in the final five minutes, but were unable to score the equalizer as the Crusaders were the ones to take the victory.
North Greenville will return to action on Wednesday, October 16th to face the King Tornado in Bristol, Tennessee.
