Greene Scores First Goal of Season in Loss to Young Harris

The North Greenville Crusaders suffered a tough 8-1 loss to the #2 Young Harris Mount Lions in Young Harris, Georgia. YHC put together a strong attack, putting up 29 shots while the Crusaders were limited to 3. Gareth Greene scored his first goal of the season.

Young Harris would quickly get on the board less than five minutes in with a goal by Yesi van der Pluijm. Just past the fifteen minute mark, the Mount Lions posted their second goal, which was scored by Sondre Olsen. They would quickly score a third goal about five minutes later when Olsen once again found the back of the net. The Crusaders would spend the final 25 minutes of the half holding off the Young Harris attack to go into halftime trailing 3-0.

An offensive start to the second half resulted in three goal being scored within the first three minutes, with NGU's Gareth Greene scoring the first and YHC's Dan Creese and Olsen scoring the next two. A penalty kick goal by van der Pluijm at the 56 minute mark resulted in their 6th goal. With fifteen minutes remaining, Seba Andreassen scored the seventh goal of the match for Young Harris. With just one minute left, Olsen connected for his fourth goal of the game.

North Greenville will continue their road stretch on Wednesday, October 2nd against the Lees-McRae Bobcats.
