North Greenville suffered a 3-0 loss to the Limestone Saints in Gaffney, South Carolina. The Crusaders were unable to get anything going offensively, putting up just 2 shots in the contest. On a positive note, Noah Kendrick put together an 8-save performance.
The first half started off quietly, with the first shot of the match not coming until over seven minutes in. Just past the ten minute mark, Kike Molina put up North Greenville's only shot of the half, which was on goal but saved. Late in the half, the Limestone offense tested the Crusaders with four shots in the final three minutes. However, NGU was able to keep the match scoreless at halftime.
Just one minute into the second half, the Saints would get on the board with a goal by Josiah Ortiz. Will Moy was able to put up North Greenville's second shot of the match with around forty minutes remaining. With just over twenty minutes remaining in the match, Jeremy Cheeks added to the Limestone lead with a goal of his own. It would take only twenty additional seconds for LC to add to their lead with a goal by Guilherme Gloria. Kendrick recorded his final save with under a minute remaining.
The Crusaders will face the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College in a nonconference matchup on Saturday, September 28th in Young Harris, Georgia.
