A conference matchup against the Lees-McRae Bobcats ended in a draw as rain and lightning showed no signs of letting up as the day drew closer to midnight. The Crusaders trailed early 2-0, but fought back to force the tie.
NGU fell behind early when Lees-McRae scored a goal just over two minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, the Bobcats struck again to put the Crusaders down 2-0. However, North Greenville fought back and cut the deficit to 1 late in the half. The Crusaders put up 4 shots in the half.
Just under twelve minutes into the 2nd half, Keletso Mathathe came through for his first goal of the season to tie the match at 2-2. Both teams continued to collect shots throughout the half...as well as a few yellow cards. With less than two minutes remaining in regulation, a lightning delay forced the match to come to a stop. Both teams then agreed to end the match in a draw as the radar did not look promising.
Casey Brady scored his first goal of the season. He was on the field for 80 minutes of the match.
Keletso Mathathe made a big impact off the bench with his first goal of the season.
