Gaffney, S.C.—NGU Men's Soccer continued its Conference Carolinas struggles on Friday night as the Limestone Saints downed the Crusaders 3-0 in Gaffney, S.C.
The Crusaders trailed just 1-0 as the teams headed into halftime after a goal in the 35th minute gave Limestone a one goal cushion. The Crusaders had a chance to take the lead early in the half but a header from Asa Wolfe looked to be headed for the back of the net but was blocked by an LC defender.
The Saints added two more goals to extend their advantage to 3-0 with goals in the 60th and 66th minutes. The Crusaders would look to get back into the game with shots from Doug Cordi and Shors van Eck but the Limestone goalkeeper would come up with two saves to keep the shutout in tact.
NGU falls to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in league play after Friday's loss. The Crusaders will host Laurel University on September 30th at 7pm.
