LANDER'S BIG SECOND HALF DOOMS CRUSADERS IN GREENWOOD

Greenwood, S.C.—A four point second half outburst by Lander downs North Greenville 6-1 Wednesday night in non-conference action.

The Crusaders trailed 2-0 heading into the second half but a goal by Doug Cordi would cut the Bearcat lead in half. It was Cordi's first goal of the season that made the score 2-1, earning NGU some momentum.

The Bearcats quickly regained a two goal cushion however as Robert Seaton would pocket his second score of the year to extend the lead to 3-1. The Bearcats would finish with 27 shots on goal against NGU, six of which were saved by NGU keeper Mateo Barzola.

Lander would add three more scores in the second period, as George Rose would find the back of the net in the 74th minute while Sam Lofts would score in the 77th and 87th minutes. NGU finished the night with six total shots against Lander Keepers.

The Crusaders fall to 1-3 on the season with their second Conference Carolinas game of the season scheduled for Saturday against Emmanuel College. The Crusaders and Lions are scheduled for a 5pm kickoff in Franklin Springs, Georgia.
