Mount Olive, N.C.—The North Greenville Men's Soccer team lost its second game of the season on Saturday in a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Trojans from the University of Mount Olive.
The Trojans picked up the first goal of the game midway through the first half when Nikolai Iotov found the back of the net in the 22nd minute. The NGU defense locked down in the final half of the first period as the Crusaders took the one point deficit into halftime.
Mount Olive quickly extended its lead in the second half taking a 2-0 lead when Malick Chune scored in the 47th minute. The Trojans continued to send shots at the NGU keepers, finishing with 19 on the game. The Trojans added two more goals in the second period in the 73rd and 74th minutes to take a 4-0 lead.
NGU keepers finished the game with a combined 10 saves as James Max Miller finished with six while Mateo Barzola had four. NGU will head to Lander University on the 19th to take on the Bearcats in a 7pm kickoff.
