Lions Pounce On Crusaders
Tigerville, SC – Fredrick Douglas once said, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress.”  This year the Crusaders are struggling, but progress is hard to gauge as the Crusaders lost again dropping to 0-9 after suffering defeat at the hands of Emmanuel College.

The Crusaders were outshot 19-9 and have been outshot in all but one of their games this year.

The scoring opened in the 30th minute as Shannon Crooks scored on an assist from Scott Purdue.  It would be 21 seconds into the second half that Martin Mitreski scored with the assist being credited to Alex Wright.

The Crusaders would get on the board in the 74th minute as winger Jonny Lind would receive a flick on from Joel Johnson and place the ball past the goalie near side.

The Crusaders would only momentarily stay within distance as two minutes later Wright would pick up his second assist of the game this time the goal going to Cole Redman.

Goalie DJ Baker again did his best to keep his team in the game as he recorded 10 saves.

The Crusaders (0-9, 0-5 Conference Carolinas) will host Pfeiffer University on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium.
