Tigerville, SC – It was last year against Columbia International University that NGU last saw points but, tonight would not see a similar result as the Crusaders fell to the Rams 1-0 on Thursday night.
A game in which NGU asserted itself offensively outshooting the opposition 19-9 failed to see a different result as the Crusaders were unable to score once again. The Crusaders best chance came on an in swinging free kick from Thales Wieczorek as he found the head of forward running center back Shomari Bridgewater.
Rams goal came in the 36th minute as Maksym Yakovenko would pounce on a misplayed back pass and finish his chance. Goalkeeper DJ Baker would be sure to keep his team in the game making multiple diving saves, finishing with three for the night.
The Crusaders (0-7 0-3 Conference Carolinas) will be in action again in Bristol, TN to take on King University on Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.
