Flying Fleet Drop Crusaders At Home

Tigerville, SC – Erskine used to second half goal to down the Crusaders 2-1 on Wednesday night in Pepsi Stadium.

After a scoreless first half of action, the Flying Fleet gained a one-goal lead in the 63rd minute of play on a goal by Andrew Settlemire.

The Crusaders evened the score just minutes later when senior defender Alex Redding headed in a corner kick from fellow senior Ben Montry in the 67th minute.

Erskine’s Martin Maschio came off the bench to score the eventual game-winning goal in the 75th minute to secure the 2-1 victory.

Freshman keeper DJ Baker recorded five saves as Erskine outshot North Greenville 14-10 in the game.

The Crusaders (3-10-1, 1-6 Conference Carolinas) will end the season on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3 pm in Tigerville.
