Tigerville, SC- The North Greenville men’s soccer team suffered its fifth loss in its last six games with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Barton College on Saturday afternoon.
Barton put its first goal on the scoreboard midway through the first half with a goal by Danilo Matos who was assisted by Erik Pajunk in the 23rd minute of play.
Kevin Strassburger scored an unassisted goal in the 24th minute, before Archer Bane put the Bulldogs ahead by three goals on an assist from both Pajunk and Ricardo Oliveira.
Sophomore midfielder Ara Zadoorian netted his second goal of the season in the 33rd minute on a penalty kick to make the halftime score 3-1 in favor of Barton.
The Bulldogs tacked on its final goal in the 67th minute on an unassisted goal by Pajunk to secure the three-goal victory on the road.
Sophomore keeper Pablo Dongarra allowed three goals in the first half to suffer the loss, while freshman DJ Baker recorded one goal allowed and four saves as both keepers played 45 minutes in the game.
The Crusaders (3-8-1, 1-4 Conference Carolinas) will host King University on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. in Tigerville.
