Men's Soccer Suffers Loss At Limestone

Gaffney, SC – The Crusader men’s soccer team dropped its third straight game, losing 3-1 to the Saints of Limestone College on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints jumped on the board midway through the first half, scoring on a goal by Thomas Metzemaekers in the 33rd minute of play, before Limestone’s Juan Herrera put the team ahead by two goals heading into the half.

The Crusaders continued to pressure, breaking through in the 83rd minute of play on a goal by sophomore Brandon Prevett to cut into the Limestone lead. However, the Saints secured the victory with a penalty kick in the 86th minute to claim the 3-1 win at home.

Keeper Pablo Dongarra recorded six saves in the loss as Limestone outshot North Greenville 24-4 in the contest.

North Greenville (3-6, 1-2 Conference Carolinas) will head to Misenheimer, NC on Saturday, Oct. 12 for a matchup with Pfeiffer University at 4 p.m.
