Crusaders Ousted From Conference Tournament
Wilson, NC - After making the Conference Carolinas Tournament as the #5 seed overall, the North Greenville University men's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to #4 seed Barton College in the quarterfinals of the postseason tournament.

Barton's Archer Bane put the Bulldogs on the board in the 31st minute of play when his seventh goal of the season to give his team a one goal advantage. The Bulldogs went ahead by two goals in the 34th minute when Conference Player of the Year Candidate Dante  De Luca scored his 14th goal of the season on an assist from Nick Ahlquist and Jonathan Rembecki to lead 2-0 at the halftime break.

The lone goal of the match for North Greenville came from senior defender Cameron Porter in the 48th minute when he took advantage of a loose ball and drove his shot into the back of the net for his first goal of 2012. However, Barton's Jovan Gracia scored his first goal of the season on an assist from De Luca in the 71st minute to make the final score 3-1 in favor of the Bulldogs.

The Crusaders and Bulldogs each recorded 10 shots in the game as senior goalkeeper Justen Braddock totaled two saves in his final game for North Greenville.

North Greenville finishes the season with a 6-8-1 overall record and a 5-5 record in Conference Carolinas with a fifth place finish in the final regular season standings.
