Tigerville, SC – As the North Greenville men’s soccer team continues to push toward a berth in the Conference Carolinas Tournament, the Crusaders dropped a match to conference leader Limestone College 3-1 on Friday night in Pepsi Stadium.
The Saints recorded their first goal of the game in the 6th minute of action from the foot of Calvin Bond. Limestone scored again in the 13th minute from Thomas McCready to gain a two goal advantage.
The Crusaders cut into the lead with a goal from senior Luis Mattei in the 13th minute on an assist from freshman Thales Wieczorek to make the halftime score 2-1 in favor of Limestone.
Limestone added their third and final goal in the 82nd minute of play as Larry Mahon scored to make the final score 3-1.
Senior goalkeeper Justen Braddock recorded seven saves as the Saints outshot North Greenville 17-3 in the contest.
With the regular season schedule coming to an end, the Crusaders (6-7-1, 5-5 in conference) now await a spot in the Conference Carolinas Tournament. The date, time and place for the first round will be announced later this week.
