Wilson, NC – The North Greenville men’s soccer team struggled in their third Conference Carolinas match of the season, dropping a contest to Barton College 3-1 on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first half of play, the Crusaders got on the board with a goal in the 55th minute of play from midfielder Todd Johnston. The goal tied Johnston for the team-lead with three goals for the 2012 season.
However, the lead was short-lived as the Bulldogs scored a goal of their own in the 57th to tie the game at one goal apiece. Barton went on to score goals in the 82nd and 89th minutes to earn the 3-1 victory over North Greenville.
Goalkeeper Justen Braddock recorded five saves in the game as each team recorded 13 shots in the contest.
The Crusaders (1-4-1, 0-3 in conference) will conclude their three-game road trip on Wednesday, Sept. 26 as they travel to Bristol, TN for a matchup with King College at 4 p.m.
