Misenheimer, NC – The North Greenville men’s soccer team’s two-game winning streak came to an end Tuesday afternoon as the Crusaders dropped their final contest of 2011 regular season 1-0 to Pfeiffer University.
The Falcons (3-12-1, 2-7-1 in conference) broke through with the game’s only goal in the 8th minute of play as forward Fahret Salihovic scored on a ball played to him by defender Kris Jaggers.
The Crusaders had plenty of opportunities on goal as they outshot the Falcons 15-11 in the contest but were unable to put any shots into the back of the net.
Keeper Justen Braddock recorded four saves in the game as Pfeiffer totaled five shots on goal.
With the regular season coming to an end, the Crusaders (8-7, 6-5) will have at least one more game coming in the postseason as North Greenville is currently in 6th place in Conference Carolinas with the top eight teams making the conference tournament.
