On Tuesday night the Crusaders controlled every aspect of the game en route to a 5-0 victory over the Owls of Warren Wilson College.
“It was good to get a solid win today,” said head coach Chad Gfeller. I’m excited about how we are coming together as a team.”
The North Greenville offense unloaded 28 shots against the Warren Wilson defense as the team put up its most goal in a game this season.
Midfielder Chandler Patterson began the scoring early for the Crusaders as he scored on a cross in the box from forward Alex Redding in the 8th minute for the games first goal.
Jonathan Restrepo scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season just nine seconds before the end of the first half. Midfielder Ben Allen played a ball to Restrepo who broke away from his defender and put the ball into the back of the net to make the halftime score 2-0.
Gfeller was able to rest his starters in the second half but the second unit for North Greenville continued the attack.
Midfielder Ben Montry recorded goals in the 53rd and 73rd minutes as well as assisted on a goal by freshman Craig Huffman in the 61st minute.
The Crusaders will look to build on their two-game winning streak on Friday against Mount Olive College in Pepsi Stadium at noon.
